Bottoms
Shorts, skorts and trousers. The waist is measured flat across the top of the waistband, so compare it with the waist of a pair you already own rather than with your body measurement.

Short dresses
Dresses that finish above the knee. Bust, waist and hip are given as ranges because the fabric and the cut both give a little; length is a single figure taken flat.

Long dresses
Maxi and ankle-length styles. The body measurements match our short dresses; the length is roughly 40 cm longer, so the hem is the column that changes most between the two categories.

Girls’ dresses
Kids’ styles are listed by age band first, then by our letter size, then by the US kids’ size, because parents usually know one of the three. Age is a guide to the cut, not a limit.

Adult and kids
Fit, care and returns: what changes between adult and kids’ styles
Only the fit is graded differently. Care instructions and the return window are the same for both, so you can treat the labels on a kids’ dress exactly as you would on a womenswear piece.
Fit
Graded down, not simply shrunk
Kids’ styles are smaller in overall length and circumference, and narrower across the shoulder.
Adult styles are larger in the overall outline, with circumference, body length and shoulder line all scaled up. Use the separate chart for each, rather than dropping a size on the adult chart.
Care
No difference
- Maximum washing temperature 30 °C, normal programme.
- Do not bleach.
- Hang to dry.
- The highest temperature of the ironing board is 110 °C.
- Be careful with dry cleaning.
Returns
No difference
- You have the right to request a return within 7 days after receiving the product.
- If your item arrives damaged, defective or different from what you ordered, you may submit a return request within 30 days of receipt.
Fabric weight
How heavy is the fabric, and what will it feel like?
Fabric weight is given in GSM, grams per square metre. A higher number is a denser, warmer cloth; the temperature beside each band is the environment it is comfortable in, not a limit on the season.
Lightweight120–160 GSM
25–30 °C77–86 °F
Light to mid-weight160–200 GSM
20–25 °C68–77 °F
Mid-weight200–280 GSM
15–20 °C59–68 °F
Heavyweight280–380 GSM
10–15 °C50–59 °F
The recommended temperatures are a reference for the environment only. How a fabric feels also depends on how easily you feel the cold, on wind and on humidity.
Lining. Styles with a lining are labelled as lined. If a style is not labelled, it has no lining.
Questions
Size and fit questions
How do I choose between two sizes?
If you are between sizes, or you prefer a more relaxed fit, choose the larger size. If you want a closer fit, choose the smaller size and compare the waist and length columns first, because these vary most between styles.
How accurate are the size charts?
Every chart is measured by hand, so allow 1–2 cm difference. The quickest check is to measure a similar item you already own and compare it against the table before you order.
What size should I choose for a child?
Girls’ styles use the same letter sizes as womenswear, and each letter also maps to an age band and a US kids’ size: XS is 2–3 Years and US 2T–3T, M is 4–5 Years, L is 6–7 Years, XL is 8–9 Years, XXL is 10–11 Years. Measure the bust, waist and hip, then choose the column that matches.
Which fabric weight suits my climate?
Fabric weight is given in GSM, grams per square metre. Lightweight 120–160 GSM suits 25–30 °C, light to mid-weight 160–200 GSM suits 20–25 °C, mid-weight 200–280 GSM suits 15–20 °C, and heavyweight 280–380 GSM suits 10–15 °C. The temperatures are an environmental reference only; wind, humidity and how easily you feel the cold all change how a fabric feels.
Can I return an item if the size does not fit?
You have the right to request a return within 7 days after receiving the product. If your item arrives damaged, defective or different from what you ordered, you may submit a return request within 30 days of receipt.
